Considering the legacy that the Institute has built over the years as an agent of transformation and growth of the Malawian economy, this year’s conference topic of discussion is: ‘Creating Value, Building a Sustainable Economy – Towards Malawi 2063’. The topic challenges accountancy professionals to strategically envision their contribution to the future of Malawi.

It is a fact that Malawi has been hit with multiple waves of cyclones, devaluation of the Malawian Kwacha and high inflation rates etc. that have eroded the economic strides gained of late. This has called for immediate action from diverse professionals including the accountancy professionals to find solutions in ensuring that, as the accountancy profession, it is in the fore towards conducting sustainable businesses/roles that ultimately directs the Malawian economy towards “Malawi 2063” goals.

It is the Institute’s expectation that the members shall utilize the opportunity to interact and network so that with steadfastness, they find a common front to reinvigorate the economy and ensure that the journey towards the 2063 Goals, is still a reality.

For this year’s conference, ICAM has pulled together a diverse of well-versed speakers to lead the conversation, hence the call to its members and the general public to make this year’s Lakeshore Conference more value-adding by offering their invaluable attention to the presentations and panel discussions..
